Danica Patrick items now sell on NASCAR.com, and the willingness of the IndyCar Series driver to answer questions about stock car racing raises speculation she might change jobs when her contract with Andretti Green Racing expires at the end of the season.

But not long before Patrick was to take the green flag for Saturday night’s race at Texas Motor Speedway, the Indy Racing League’s most recognizable personality offered a glimpse at what’s important to her career.
She’s positioned to start achieving her highest goals.
“From the first time that I came into IndyCar, I think (I’ve wanted) to win races as much as possible, to win the Indy 500, to win a championship,” she said. “Those are all goals for me from the beginning, it’s just that they’re probably more realistic now.”
“I can’t say they’re any different; it’s just that they’re happening.” Indianapolis Star
Responding to questions at Texas Motor Speedway, where the Bombardier Learjet 550k was Saturday night, Patrick did say if she makes a move to NASCAR that her preference would be to drive in the top-level Sprint Cup Series.
“As a driver that drives in the top level of open wheel racing here in the United States, or in North American, you want to jump from one top to another top,” she said. “If that was the direction that ends up coming up and that we choose, I would prefer to do that, but I’m not so naive that I won’t be open to other opportunities and other ideas.”
Would she be ready for that top series?

“I don’t think there’s really a way to ever know if you’re ready until you’ve tried it,” she said. “I will be exploring all type of options for next year and beyond. I don’t know which direction it’s going to go.” Fort Wayne Journal Gazette
