What If? … If Junior Had It To Do All Over Again |
After rain delayed the start of the XM Satellite Radio Indy 300, 2004 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice and popular driver Sarah Fisher just couldn’t find their grove after starting the race with uncomfortable cars. Regardless, Rice and Fisher posted concrete finishes of 10th and 11th in the IndyCar Series season opener under the lights at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“This is a decent start to season though we would have liked to had the cars in the top five or top 10,” said team co-owner, Dennis Reinbold. “This gives us a lot of information and statistics to pour over. It was a good first step for this team. 10th and 11th is not what we wanted but it’s not terrible either. We’ll improve from there as we progress throughout the season.”
Buddy Rice, who had originally qualified 13th and Sarah Fisher, who had originally qualified ninth, both were moved up one position when word spread through the paddock early Saturday morning that the Rahal Letterman Racing duo, Scott Sharp and Jeff Simmons, had been moved to the back of the field after failing post-qualifying tech inspection late Friday evening.
