Danica Patrick battled her car all night and it prevented her from securing a fifth consecutive top-five finish.

Patrick lost a duel in the final five laps with Marco Andretti and finished in sixth place.

The always animated Patrick popped out of her black No.7 car, unfurled her long, dark hair, slapped her hands on her hips and stared at the jumbo video screen behind pit row flashing instant highlights of the Bombardier Learjet 550.

“Marco passed me fair and square. He passed me around the outside,” Patrick said.

“Fifth, sixth, it’s nice to say top five, but it’s just one position,” Patrick said.

She entered the race fourth in the points standings, but slipped to sixth as Helio Castroneves, passed her for fifth. She stands just 32 points behind series leader Ryan Briscoe, who dominated Friday’s race, but ultimately lost to his Penske Racing teammate.
