With only one caution flag in Edmonton’s Indy race, the frontrunners were not happy with the backmarkers.
Race winner Will Power saw a six-second lead early in the race slip to under two halfway through when he tried to go a lap up on Marco Andretti and Danica Patrick.
Scott Dixon, who finished third, said Andretti and Canadian Alex Tagliani need to learn that if they run at the back of the pack, they have to get out of the way.
“The lap traffic was very annoying today, lots of guys that just shouldn’t have been racing with us,” said Dixon.

“They made it very tough. Marco and Tagliani was just appalling for me. I don’t know why they do it. There were lots of them.” The Canadian Press
Dario Franchitti started sixth and ran a pretty uneventful race—although he did have some problems getting around Marco Andretti, who despite not being in contention was making it difficult for the leaders to get around him.
“I was totally screwed by Marco when he was a lap down,” Franchitti said.
“I don’t know what he was up to. I didn’t appreciate that.”
Regardless, Franchitti didn’t believe he had the car to compete with the front-runners on this particular day on the City Centre Airport track.

“We didn’t have anything for the guys in front and we were somewhat ahead of the guys behind,” Franchitti said. “At points it was a pretty lonely race, but I pushed every lap.” Edmonton Sun
