Two-time IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon topped IndyCar Series practice Friday for Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. Dixon turned a lap of 119.139 mph at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in his No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi.
“I think more of it is a credit to that we tested here. Both cars were quick obviously. We waited for the track to grip up a little bit,’’ said Dixon. “At the test, we had the same issue. From the start of the test to the end was almost four seconds difference. We had a pretty good balance. It seemed quite good. The track is pretty inconsistent in some areas but, it’s a good way to start.’’ AHN
“Tomorrow, I think weather-wise it might be a little bit different. We might have some rain. That changes everything for qualifying then as well. Every session that we run, we’re just going to try and be as quick as possible.”
