Potentially big news has come out from the IRL’s engine meetings. SPEED Channel’s Robin Miller reports that Audi, Alfa Romeo and Porsche are interested in joining Honda as engine suppliers for the IndyCar Series in 2011.
As you may know, Audi has dominated recently in the American Le Mans Series and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Audi teams in ALMS have set a fine standard, and I’d be keen on seeing if they could be able to do the same in IndyCar. Porsche would also be a solid addition as their program in ALMS is also top-notch.
