… IndyCar Series driver Sam Hornish Jr. is scheduled to race in the ARCA RE/MAX Series Michigan 200. It will be Hornish’s first stock car appearance at Michigan after racing in IndyCar events at MIS over the past five years. Hornish tested a Penske Racing stock car at MIS in late May, posting some of the fastest times on the course. Hornish is also scheduled to race in the IndyCar Series Firestone Indy 400 and the NASCAR Busch Series CARFAX 250 at MIS later this summer.
… In 25 ARCA RE/MAX Series races at MIS, the pole-sitter has set a track qualifying record 13 times, including the 2004 speed of 188.210 mph by Justin Hobgood. His mark bested Casey Mears’ speed of 188.073 mph, which was set in 2003.
… The pole-sitter has won six of the 25 ARCA RE/MAX Series races at MIS, including Brent Sherman’s victory last August.

… Erin Crocker is scheduled to return to MIS in hopes of bettering her record-setting fourth-place finish in last June’s ARCA 200, which made her the highest female finisher in the history of MIS.
… ARCA RE/MAX Series veteran Frank Kimmel holds the MIS records for starts (18) and miles completed (3,124). He has two victories at Michigan in 2005 and 1998.
