Infineon Raceway will attempt to make history in 2008, much the same way IndyCar Series driver Helio Castroneves is making history on the popular hit series “Dancing With The Stars” on ABC.
Castroneves, a two-time Indianapolis 500 champion, has entered the finals of the show, which airs tonight (8 p.m.), and is attempting to become the first racecar driver to win the coveted title. John Cardinale, WhoWon.com
Infineon Raceway put the Twist into tie-ins. The Sonoma track will celebrate driver Helio Castroneves’ victory on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” with a possibly record-setting dance event when the IndyCar racers come to Northern California next summer.
With two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Castroneves leading the pack, track officials hope to break the world record for most people dancing the Twist at the same time.
“Obviously, Indianapolis is my biggest win, but this is great,” Castroneves told reporters. “(The mirrorball dancing trophy) will go right between my (Indy 500) trophies because this has mirrors and can reflect them.” Debbie Arrington, Sacbee.com
