IndyCar Series veteran Jaques Lazier has found a home with Team 3G after a two-year absence from IndyCar racing and four years removed from even a semi-permanent ride.
Lazier was recently signed as a mid-season replacement for Stanton Barrett. He’ll run his second straight race for Team 3G Sunday at the Iowa Corn Indy 250. Lazier finished 18th at Texas Motor Speedway on June 6.
Team 3G is a single-car outfit in its first season in the IRL. Team co-owner Steve Sudler said it’s looking at 2009 as a “foundation” year, and Barrett, who is currently mired in 23rd place, recently had some of the sponsors he brought to the table drop out because of the poor economy.
According to Sudler, the plan is to have Lazier run at Iowa and Richmond, which is also an oval. Richard Antinucci, the 2008 Indy Lights runner-up, will race for Team 3G at the road course at Watkins Glen on July 5.

Sudler also said that Team 3G is hoping to add a second car for 2010, and that Lazier and Antinucci will be in consideration for that slot.
