Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan will start from the pole position for Sunday’s running of the Kansas Lottery Indy 300 after posting a best-lap speed of 214.188 miles per hour (25.5476 seconds) during his qualifying attempt. It is Kanaan’s seventh career IndyCar Series pole position, his first since winning the coveted position for the 2005 Indianapolis 500.
Kanaan, the 2005 race winner at Kansas, has four career starts at the track and has never finished out of the top five.
