In front of a nearly sold-out crowd with extremely warm temperatures, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing drivers, Sarah Fisher and Buddy Rice, fought to find their grove among the field of 21 at Kansas Speedway. Fisher steadily got better as the race progressed placing 12th while teammate Rice had an early exit placing 20th.
The IndyCar Series’ Most Popular Driver, Fisher, started the race in the 17th position and steadily made gains with her car to improve handling and speed. Wing adjustments and tire pressure changes were atop the list of improvements that propelled Fisher into the top-10 of fastest laps during Sunday’s Kansas Lottery Indy 300. Strong pit stops by the AAMCO/DRR pit crew and consistent laps by Fisher on the track led the No. 5 team to a 13th place finish in the last race before the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indianapolis 500.
