Attached below is a statement from Panther Racing CEO and Managing Partner John Barnes regarding Hideki Mutoh’s signing with Andretti Green Racing. Mutoh spent the past season driving in the Indy Pro Series for Panther, where he won races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (road course) and Kentucky Speedway. In 15 IPS starts with the team, Mutoh collected seven podium, 10 Top Five and 12 Top Ten results. The Japanese driver also made his IndyCar Series debut in a Panther car last season at Chicagoland Speedway, where he finished in eighth place.

“Everybody at Panther thinks the world of Hideki Mutoh and we enjoyed being able to work with him this past season. This was a good opportunity for him, but we certainly would have enjoyed having him in a Panther car. Our relationship as driver and team has changed, but I know our friendship never will. He is a phenomenal talent and an even better person. We wish Hideki and the Super Aguri Company the best in the future with their new team and we look forward to competing with them in the IndyCar Series. ”
