Forsythe Championship Racing, one of Champ Car’s top teams, abruptly announced Thursday it will not be part of the open-wheel reunification, leaving the defunct series’ best-known driver without a ride.
Forsythe Racing, owned by former Champ Car co-owner Gerald Forsythe, will not make the transition to the Indy Racing League because of lack of sponsorship. The team will fulfill its contractual obligation to enter next month’s Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The 39-year-old Tracy said that once he is free from contractual obligations with Forsythe, he wants to sign with another team as quickly as possible.
