Power Targets To Earn More Points On Day 2 Qualifying At Richmond IndyCar Series Media

Will Power will start SunTrust Indy Challenge from 16th position after qualifying at Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, Virginia today.

Power fought a loose race car over his four-lap qualifying attempt, putting the #8 Aussie Vineyards – Team Australia Honda/Dallara/Firestone further down the order than the Australian would have liked.

Power was second fastest in the rookie practice session held, before driving to 14th and 19th fastest in the two practice sessions held on the 0.75-mile oval today.

Tony Kanaan won the PEAK Motor Oil Pole Position today ahead of Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal.

Will Power: #8 Aussie Vineyards - Team Australia Honda/Dallara/Firestone

“I thought the Aussie Vineyards – Team Australia car was loose during the qualifying run, which made it hard to get a good lap in,” said Power.

“The biggest problem with where we qualified is that this oval is very difficult to pass on. Fortunately, the Aussie Vineyards crew does a great job in the pits, so hopefully they can give me some help for the race.”

“Basically, I am hoping that I get a good start to the race, have a decent run and score some points.”
