SI Photoshops Off Danica Patrick’s Tatoo

Are Danica’s tight abs really that tight? Is that golden brown tan from the Arizona sun, the local tanning booth, or a bottle of body make-up?
After Danica revealed her backside for the camera in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue it left more questions than answers – what happened to the tattoo? In Sports Illustrated’s Danica Patrick Swimsuit Video the tattoo is clearly visible, yet, in the photo shoot it is gone.

There is no question that Danica looks different in this photo shoot than her others. Whether or not the “new” Danica is better than before is a matter of personal preference. But one thing is for sure, in many of the pictures it doesn’t look like her. Maybe it is the makeup, or maybe it is the lighting, but it could also be some re-touching that was done to the photo – better known as photoshopping.

Maybe the only thing the photoshop artist did was remove the tattoo (and why would they do that?) but maybe while doing that the “artist” also added a few muscular curves to the torso and lengthened those super-model-esque legs, ya think?

Don’t get me wrong, I think Danica looks smokin’ hot in the new photo shoot. But when I look back at the video of Danica in last year’s Indy 500 walking down the pit lane after getting knocked out of the race, I can’t believe those little teletubby legs can look so long just by adjusting the angle of the camera.

So you do this kind of research in the privacy of your home because you have a legitimate interest in the curve of Danica Patrick’s back. And while you are examining the evidence — 34 still pictures and an 82-second video of auto racing’s hottest driver, posted online at SI.com — a shocking truth is revealed.

The Swimsuit Issue is a fraud!

In the old days, this was called “air-brushing.” Now, it’s called “Photoshopping.” And I am not so sure that is Danica Patrick’s black-bikini-clad bod draped over the hood of a silver convertible.

Why? Because I’m darn sure that’s not Danica’s back, arched just so above the oversized wheel well.

Patrick, you see, has a somewhat famous flag tattoo in the middle of her back. It might have been possible for this hoax to go unnoticed, because the angle of the only Danica photo inside the magazine was not conducive to checking out her ink. But SI screwed up and posted bunches of backside pictures online, along with a video.

The video reveals Patrick’s body art has grown considerably larger and more colorful since she last put so much skin on public display. In all the still pictures, though, her back has been scrubbed clean.

Why is this important?

Glad you asked.

This isn’t Playboy, where no girl next door ever really looked like that.
