Speeds continued to jump up at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Thursday in the third day of practice runs for the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500.
Bright sunshine greeted the 26 drivers after Wednesday’s heavy rain shortened the on-track action and the racing fans saw some blistering speeds led by Scott Dixon’s 226.473 mile per hour clocking late on Thursday.
A full six-hour session on Thursday gave many of the teams the opportunity to set up their cars in qualifying trim.
The Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team worked on race settings early in the practice session before moving into the qualifying setup.
