Dreyer & Reinbold Racing completed a successful two-days of testing at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama today. Despite the wet weather conditions this morning, the team’s drivers, Justin Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line Designs) and Ana Beatriz (No. 24 Ipiranga), still managed to log in a number of miles around the 2.3 mile road course.
Lap time was exactly what the doctor ordered for Beatriz. Yesterday the Brazilian diligently worked to learn the circuit as she visited the Alabama track for the first time. Fortunately, the two days turned out to be very productive days for Bia as she completed a total of 133 laps. Today, she improved her time, clocking the 24th fastest time of 1:13.9431.
It was a similar story for Wilson. The team continued to check items off the list and made a lot of changes to the No 22 Z-Line Designs machine. The Englishman learned a number of things and as a result he ran a total of 114 laps over the two days and ended the final session with the 9th quickest time of 1:12.6791.

“It was an up and down couple of days. We had times when we were quick and times where we struggled a little bit. I think that we need to go back and analyze all of those changes. We got lots of information and we need to make sure that we pick out the good ones. It’s just part of testing, you can’t always be quick at the right time. We were pretty good on old tires so that’s encouraging and we found some things there. We just need to go and continue to work hard.”
Ana Beatriz, No. 24 Ipiranga:
“I think it was a very productive two days for me to understand the circuit, it’s a very hard track for me. We improved a lot from yesterday and I think we could have gone a little bit faster, but it can always be like that. The most important thing is that we improved a lot and I think that is very good.”
