Will make his second qualifying attempt tomorrow; will be the first car to make an attempt on Sunday.
“Today was hectic, not only for the Window World Dallara but for all of Andretti Autosport, and I think for everybody in the garages. We’ve struggled a bit all week with qualifying speed - today Michael made some big decisions and we went ahead and made some big changes to the car, one of those being an engine change. Now we seem to be right on pace. We got a couple of runs in and tried to make a qualifying run, we came close to getting into the top 24 but decided to wait and get in tomorrow morning. We’ll be the first car to qualify and hopefully we can get our position locked in early and get some more race running with Marco (Andretti) and the rest of the Andretti Autosport team.”
MARCO ANDRETTI, #26 TEAM VENOM ENERGY DRINK CAR
Qualified 16th.
“I would have loved to put the Venom car in the top nine but we didn’t have the speed. The car was just super loose during our run today and when that happens, your lap time drops. I was all over the cockpit working tools, trying to bring the car back in balance.
“In hindsight maybe we should have run during the morning practice session, but then again it’s just as easy to get lost. If we had gone out it could have sent us in a worse direction. It’s a roller coaster of a month. When we think we’re completely happy and think we’re flying, then we roll off the next day and we’re a mile (an hour) slower. That’s Indy. I can’t wait to get the #26 car out there in race trim and try to stick it to these guys.”
RYAN HUNTER-REAY, #37 TEAM IZOD CAR

“That is by far the best we’ve been and we had to get it so scary to get it there. We did some radical stuff to it. It was degrading fast, but we hung on to it. This is good for Team IZOD and good for the whole team, in general, today. I’m just glad to have qualifying behind us and now we can turn the page completely to next Sunday.”
TONY KANAAN, #11 TEAM 7-ELEVEN CAR
Crashed in Turn 1 on his first qualifying attempt today; will attempt to qualify Sunday in his backup car.
“It was a hard day. I had to try to make something happen and I will not give up trying to be fast. Tomorrow is another day and we’ll be ready to get everything we can. I’d love to be in the show right now, but we’re not, so we can’t worry about that.”

Posted the 23rd fastest qualifying average today.
“Clearly it wasn’t our day today. I’m disappointed with our qualifying position, but this isn’t the day that counts. Next Sunday is what I’m focused on. It’s a long race and we have plenty of time between now and then to make sure the GoDaddy car will be competitive on race day. Sure I would’ve liked to be in a better spot, but we’re in the show and that’s all that counts.”
