MARCO ANDRETTI, #26 TEAM VENOM ENERGY DRINK CAR
Finished the race in 3rd place
“It’s good to be able to taste it again. It’s been tough on the road courses lately, so I’m happy to have the Venom car on the podium again.
“We lost a couple spots in pit stops, so we have to really analyze what happened. That was pretty costly.
“We gave those guys in front of us everything we had. But, when you have to run the high line it means you’re running more distance and it’s tough to pass any of those guys when you’re running more distance.”
RYAN HUNTER-REAY, #37 ETHANOL USA-TEAM IZOD CAR
Recorded a 4th place finish
“That was crazy - crazier than any race I’ve ever had at Texas, for sure. It was nuts. In the end, it just depended on what kind of gap you had and what the lifts were in front of you. If guys were lifting in front of you and you had a big run, you were kind of held out. Whatever break you got at the time was your run. It was back-and-forth, seesawing all over the place.
“I knew we could tune the Ethanol USA-Team IZOD car to be that good. Once we got the front wing where we needed it, I knew we’d be marching forward.”
TONY KANAAN, #11 TEAM 7-ELEVEN/PLANTERS CAR
Ended the race in 5th place
“It was a great team effort for us tonight, but it was a crazy race. It’s great for the fans, but it’s hard to enjoy it as a driver. For most of the night, you’re in survival mode. Everybody is going to get mad at each other at one point or another in a race like this because there is nowhere to hide. People were doing crazy things out there and it’s a bit upsetting.”
DANICA PATRICK, #7 TEAM GoDaddy.com CAR
Finished the race in 14th place
“I’m really disappointed with the race result. The GoDaddy car was handling well all night, I just didn’t have enough speed to stay with the lead pack. It’s tough to end the event like this because we were really competitive and I thought we’d have more out there tonight.”
