We haven t won but have been very close and expect to challenge again this year. It s always good to come back to a track where you ve always been competitive. * Kanaan collected a fifth-place finish at the season-opening IndyCar Series race at Homestead-Miami.
* This will be Kanaan s third start at the Honda Grand Prix. He has started both previous races in third place. He finished the 2006 race in third place and the 2005 race in second place.
* Kanaan is the only driver to finish on the podium of both Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg events.
* Along with teammates Bryan Herta and Dario Franchitti, Kanaan drove to a win at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 17. The trio collected the LMP2 class victory in AGR s first ALMS start.
* Kanaan finished sixth in the 2006 IndyCar Series driver championship after finishing second in 2005 and winning the championship in 2004.
* He captured the pole position at the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and is the first driver in history to lead laps in his first five starts in the Indianapolis 500 (2002-2006).
* Kanaan has seven career IndyCar Series wins (6th all-time), has led 1,772 laps (4th all-time), has led 43 races (3rd all-time) and has 43 top-five finishes (3rd all-time).
