Tony Kanaan, driver of the #11 Team 7-Eleven car, will start fourth for Saturday’s running of the Bombardier Learjet 550 from Texas Motor Speedway. The winner of the June 2004 event at Texas, Kanaan recorded a best-lap speed of 213.844 miles per hour (24.4945 seconds) during his qualifying attempt.
ESPN2 will provide broadcast coverage of the race beginning at 10 p. m. (EDT). The race may also be heard live on XM Satellite Radio, XM channel 145, the official home of the IndyCar Series.
Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
“Our run was okay. Being the first one to qualify is a bit tougher because as time goes by it gets cooler and cooler and I think the track conditions changed a little bit after my run to make it a little quicker. This is Texas and I can tell you that qualifying really doesn’t matter. It’s going to be an exciting race. I’m starting next to my teammate Dario (Franchitti) and the Team 7-Eleven car will make its way to the front soon enough. “
