Delphi National Guard driver Vitor Meira completed Friday’s practice at Infineon Raceway with the fifth-quickest time amongst the 26 IndyCar Series competitors entered for this weekend’s PEAK Antifreeze and Motor Oil Indy 300. Meira is coming off a solid fourth-place result two weeks ago at Kentucky Speedway.
Vitor has two Top Five finishes this year, along with six Top Tens, and the team is currently 12th place in the IndyCar Series championship standings. He finished third at Infineon in 2006, his first season with Panther Racing.

“We had a good day today in the Delphi National Guard car. We knew we would have a good package after the test last week, and luckily that translated into today. There was an issue this morning with our braking, but the Panther guys were able to fix that during the break and you could see how quick we were this afternoon. We’re happy with fifth (position) overall in practice today and look forward to making a run at the Firestone Fast Six tomorrow.”
