A series of heavy rain showers kept the practice runs to just two hours Wednesday as preparations continue for Saturday’s qualifications for the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500. The drivers and cars did not tour the race track until after 4 p. m. (EDT) Wednesday.
With the drivers and crew locked down in the garage area for most of the day, the busiest participants Wednesday seemed to be the media members scrambling for interviews with drivers, team owners and team managers.
In addition, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing drivers Buddy Rice and Sarah Fisher signed a host of autographs for spectators and sponsors during the “down time” while talking to media.
