IndyCar driver Will Power is expected to miss the rest of this season but will not need surgery to repair the broken bones in his back.

Orthopedic specialist Dr. Terry Trammell examined Power on Monday and determined the IndyCar driver sustained fractures of his second, third and fourth lumbar vertebrae and a fracture of his fifth thoracic vertebra in the crash.
