The second week of action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway got underway Wednesday with cold and windy conditions at the famed two and a half mile oval.
With many teams scrambling to add cars to their operations or qualified machines seeking race day setups, some 25 cars made practice runs in the cooler weather.
Leading the way was Danica Patrick, who’ll start eighth in the May 27 Indy 500, with a speed of 221.189 miles per hour followed by Scott Dixon at 220.556, Sam Hornish Jr. at 22.484, Marco Andretti at 220.399 and Dario Franchitti at 220.131.
