The Next Generation Of Motorsport Stars In Action This Weekend At Eastern Creek

Included in the drivers competing at the event are 193 drivers from the host state of New South Wales. Some of these drivers include:

AARON BORG As with many young boys Minchinbury teenager Aaron Borg one day dreams of racing a Formula One car at high speeds on some of the best racing circuits across the world.

While this is Borgs long term goal, his focus this weekend will be on defeating the best karters from across Australia at the Yamaha Dunlop 45th National Sprint Kart Championships at the nearby Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway


BRETT HOBSON Last weekend Denham Court resident Brett Hobson was racing a high-powered V8 Supercar around the Wakefield Park circuit on his way to 12th position in the highly competitive Fujitsu V8 Supercar Championship.

This weekend the 21-year-old will go back to his motorsport roots, karting, when he competes in the Yamaha Dunlop 45th National Sprint Kart Championships at Sydneys Eastern Creek Raceway.


GRANT DONLEY Greenacre resident Grant Donley will be out to hunt down an Easter surprise of a different kind this year as he aims to become an Australian Karting Champion at the nearby Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway.


HAYDEN McBRIDE Ten days ago Kurri Kurri resident Hayden McBride was taking on the best European karting drivers while competing in the opening round of the Euro Rotax Series in Salbris, France.

After jetting back into the country last Wednesday McBride will be tackling Australias best karting drivers when he suits up for the Yamaha Dunlop 45th National Sprint Kart Championships at Sydneys Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway this weekend.


JASON BURNS When East Corrimal resident Jason Burns first climbed behind the wheel of a go-kart ten years ago little did he know how much it would change his life.

Since 1997 the sport of karting has turned from a weekend hobby into a full-time business for Burns. He is now the importer and distributor of Redspeed karts throughout Australia.


JASON HRYNIUK With three National Karting Championships to his name Mona Vale resident Jason Hryniuk is undoubtedly one of Australias most talented young motorsport stars.

This weekend he is will be hoping to make his 27th birthday weekend a special one by defeating the best drivers from all across the country in the Yamaha Dunlop 45th National Sprint Kart Championships at Sydneys Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway.


JASON VARLEY Silverdale resident Jason Varley first started racing karts for fun 15 years ago.

Since that time the sport has turned from a part time hobby into a full-time occupation with the 25-year-old becoming one of the most popular motorsport helmet designers in the country.


LIAM FERRY Toukley youngster Liam Ferry got his first speed thrill behind the steering wheel of a go-kart at the tender age of seven and hasnt looked back since.

After hounding his parents for many months prior to his seventh birthday Ferry received a go-kart as a present enabling him to follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Daniel, on the race track.


MARK MATTHEWS Local driver Mark Matthews will be suiting up for his sixth tilt at a National Karting Championship when he lines up against Australias best in the Yamaha Dunlop 45th National Sprint Kart Championships at Eastern Creek this weekend.

Matthews, who had his first drive in a go-kart 21 years ago at the Lithgow kart circuit, is a former Club Champion at both the Lithgow and Eastern Creek circuits.


PETER GALVIN St Clair resident Peter Galvin will trade his plumbers wrench for a steering wheel when he competes in the Yamaha Dunlop 45th National Sprint Kart Championships at the Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway next weekend.

Since starting his racing career just over 12 months ago Galvin has enjoyed various success at club and state level, however he will face his toughest test this Easter lining up against the best drivers from all across the country.


THOMAS PHILLIPS South Turramurra resident Thomas Phillips passion for motorsport is unquestionable.

The 19-year-old is embarking on his second year of mechanical engineering study at University of Technology Sydney with the aim of one day making a career as a motorsport engineer.


TOBY BELLBOWEN As a second generation racer Cranbrook resident Toby Bellbowen has grown up around motorsport and started his career at the first available opportunity.

His Father, Rod, was one of Australias best Speedway drivers throughout his career and his older brother Rodney is currently asserting himself on the same career path following a successful karting career.
