Billy Drake Racing

BLOOMINGTON, IL - Billy Drake Racing will travel to two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events this weekend. On July 11th Billy and the team will compete in Tuscumbia, AL at the North Alabama Speedway for a $7,000 to win feature event. Then on Saturday July 12th Billy will travel to Columbus, Mississippi and compete at Columbus Speedway in a $10,000 to win feature event. Both events will count towards the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series national point’s standings. Billy is currently in 6th place in the series national point’s standings.

This past weekend Billy competed in three Lucas Oil sanctioned events competing in both the state of Ohio and Tennessee over the weekend. On Thursday Billy competed at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, OH for a $10,000 to win feature event. Billy started 12th but was only able to manage a 14th place finish in the final run down. On Saturday July 5th Billy traveled to Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN for another $10,000 to win feature event. Billy would have to use a series provisional starting spot and started 24th in the feature. Billy would earn the PBM Hard Charger award by advancing 13 positions and finishing a strong 11th place in the final run down. Then on Sunday July 6th Billy competed at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN for another $10,000 to win feature event sanctioned by Lucas Oil. Billy would start 15th in the feature and finished 10th at the checkers at the fast Tazewell Speedway.
“We had a decent weekend. We need to get back into finishing in the top five more often and put ourselves in contention for more wins. I’m looking forward to this weekends events at tracks that I’ve had success at in the past”, stated Billy.
