Super Late Model Stocks, East vs. West Super Streets, and MMI Factory Stocks came out to play Saturday night at Santa Maria Speedway.
Late Model point leader Steve Drake, of San Luis Obispo, came out on top in everything but qualifying, winning his 8-lap heat race and the 30-lap main event. Rob Sanders, of Bakersfield, was third to Drake in the feature with Bakersfield’s John Lowrey second. Nick Bartels, of El Segundo, and Brian Wirtz, of Santa Barbara, were fourth and fifth, in that order.
Santa Maria’s Tim Randolph was, once again, the class of the East/West field, setting fast time of 16.585 seconds and capturing an 8-lap heat race and the 30-lap feature event. Tim’s brother Toby, also of Santa Maria, was the runner-up in the feature, followed by Bakersfield drivers Brady Bell and Jeremiah VanScoy, and Buellton’s Bobby Meneley.
