With already saturated grounds and continued heavy rain expected in the area, the officials of Paducah International Raceway and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have made the decision to postpone this weekend’s much anticipated first ever visit to the track and rescheduled it for Friday Night, May 15th.
Paducah will run a special for UMP Late Models on Thursday Night, May 14th paying $3,000 to win. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will then run a complete show paying $10,000 to win.
“Due to the soaking rains over the past few days, it just made the grounds too wet to host an event this weekend,” stated Bob Sargent Co-Promoter of Paducah International Raceway, “We are all very excited about having the Lucas Oil guys in town and with tonight’s scheduled UMP events being postponed also, we decided to re-schedule the for UMP show for Thursday May 14th and the LOLMDS show for May15th.”
“No one likes having to postpone an event, but we are lucky to have a promoter like Bob Sargent who understands the value of the series by bringing back both the May 14th UMP show and the May 15th LOLMDS show for the fans who have been rained out” stated Series Director, Ritchie Lewis. “With these two shows being rescheduled for the same weekend, the fans are still going to enjoy two action-packed shows at PIR, and a third show for Saturday night May 16th, just up the road at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL.”
The Lucas Oil late Model Dirt Series will be in action on May 8th and 9th for the culmination of the 2009 Sunoco Race Fuels “Road to Wheatland” with the Third Annual SuperClean “Diamond Nationals” at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. Activities will begin on Thursday Evening with practice from 5 pm to 8pm (CDT). Friday Night will start off with Time Trials and full A-Modified show. The remainder of the program will be conducted on Saturday with Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 75 Lap SuperClean “Diamond Nationals” Feature paying $30,000 to win.
