Last weekend’s final round of the A1GP World Cup Of Motorsport at Brands Hatch proved to be a huge success, with hordes of passionate supporters heading to the Kent circuit to see Team Great Britain’s Robbie Kerr triumph in the Sprint Race.
Kerr, 27, made history as the first driver in the 44-race history of A1GP to win on home soil, and followed up the feat in the Sprint event with a close second to new world champions Germany and Niko Hulkenberg. Brands Hatch basked in sunshine and high temperatures throughout the weekend, as the pair of thrilling A1GP races and host of support events wowed the crowds with action-packed racing and plenty of overtaking. The ‘donut’ celebrations of Hulkenberg, Kerr and third-placed Enrico Toccacelo of Italy after the Feature Race had the crowd in raptures as the second A1GP season came to a superb climax.
