Life as a rookie in the ASA Late Model Series Northern Division is always an adventure! This week at Grundy County Speedway, Alex Kennedy will face the challenge of yet another new track. After qualifying 15th at the super fast O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianpolis in the season opener, this talented 15-year-old from Aztec, New Mexico will deal with the 1/3rd mile bullring in Morris, Illinois this weekend.
“I was a little surprised at how well I was running at ORP because there were so many awesome racers there for the event, ” said Alex. “My 5K Motorsports team really brought me great equipment and I felt really comfortable in my new car. “
In addition to family members and his team rooting him on this weekend, three youngsters from the Central Illinois Branch of the Dream Factory Inc will be in attendance. “I really can’t wait to meet the guys from Dream Factory at the race this weekend, ” said Alex. ” All of us racers are lucky to be able to do what we do and to share that with kids that haven’t been as fortunate will be a great experience. “
