Astuti Motorsport Announces Partnership With Ash Samadi

Astuti Motorsport is pleased to announce a long-term partnership with Ash Samadi that will see the team expand to a two-car championship class program this season.

After making his F3 debut at Oran Park recently, Samadi and Astuti motorsport will step up to the mark in 2008 after confirming the recent purchase of a new Dallara F307 chassis from top British team Raikkonen-Robertson racing.

Samadi will contest round four of the championship at Mallala this weekend in his existing National Class Astuti Motorsport / Shell Racing Solutions Dallara F304, before stepping into the new chassis from round five of the championship at Phillip Island, in June.

The new chassis will be airfreighted from Europe within the next week in order to have the car prepared in time for the June round at Phillip Island, where Astuti Motorsport will run at least three cars; potentially more.

New Astuti Motorsport driver James Winslow currently leads the championship in the worlds only Renault-powered Dallara F307 after a triumphant race two win at Oran Park recently.

The success was proof of the Renault engines capability of competing with the Mercedes and Honda powerplants that currently dominate the championship class of the Australian Championship.

Winslows’ win came after an incredibly short yet successful build program and a race against time to ready the ex-Hitech, British F3 championship winning car that only arrived weeks prior to the third round of the series.

Samadi made his F3 debut at the same round and overcame a disappointing first race to finish on the class podium in the second – after only one day of practice and testing before the event and a background centred on Porsche / GT racing.

Today’s announcement continues a recent sign of growth for Astuti Motorsport, following its expansion into Sports / GT Racing with John Kaias and the Aston Martin DBRS9, and the recent move into a new workshop in Melbourne.
