In a plot twist worthy of the movies, a Texas entrepreneur plans to bring the Delorean sports car, which famously starred in the “Back to the Future” movies, back from the silver screen and onto present-day highways.
Stephen Wynne already runs a small automotive company under the DeLorean name. He has repaired the cars, created by the late, renowned automotive engineer John Z. DeLorean, for a dozen years. Now he plans to bring the vehicle back into limited production at a 40,000-square-foot factory in a Houston suburb. The company is taking orders and will begin hand-making two DeLoreans a month sometime next year.
