HOLMDEL, NJ—Not having a qualifying session for the Prairie Meadows 250 at Iowa Speedway this past Saturday gave Dominick Casola a seventh place starting position in the No. 32 A. Casola Farms Dodge Charger. That was the good news.
Having only about 15 minutes of practice because of weather related problems was the bad news.
“The Win-Tron Racing team really worked hard to give me a good car for the race on Saturday,” said Casola. “We were optimistic that this could be our turn around event after having a tough start to the ARCA RE/MAX Series season at Daytona International Speedway and Salem Speedway.”
Unfortunately the lack of practice did not allow the team to work on the set up and that just may have been what kept Casola from having a strong effort in the Prairie Meadows 250.
“We had an ill handling race car that dropped us way back in the field,” said the young racer. “We spent the entire race making change after change and it was all to no avail. We just were not as competitive as we thought we would be. The good news is that we finished with the racecar intact.”
A 17th place finish, seven laps down on the leader, was not what the team had in mind for the Iowa Speedway event but the team did put in a lot of hard work during the race to get the car back in the front half of the field after having been deep in the pack.
The Minnesota based team will be working overtime this week to give Casola a better car for the ARCA race at Kansas Speedway this Saturday, April 26th.
“We have had a great test session at Kansas and we want to carry that success into the race,” said Casola. “This should be the race that turns our season around. I may even bring a four leaf clover and a rabbit’s foot to insure some extra luck.
“I think the team will have a great car for me. I am really looking forward to the Kansas Lottery $150 Grand race.”
