Carl Edwards finished second Sunday at NASCAR’s Dover (Del.) Sprint Cup race, his fourth top-10 in a row, but is more concerned about the ground lost to race winner and series leader Kyle Busch.
Edwards was tied with Busch for most season victories before Busch scored his fourth win at Dover. Edwards is stuck in fourth place in the points standings.
“If Kyle Busch and I end up fighting for the championship at the end of the year,” Edwards said, what happened at Dover was literally like giving Kyle 20 points. We didn’t get 10 and he did. … Winning is important.”
While Edwards says the COT has issues — like difficulty turning at Dover because of the front splitter — he likes its adaptability.
“With the car we run at Pocono next weekend, we could go run at Bristol,” he says.
