Brands Hatch is aiming to celebrate the launch of the 2007 motorsport season in style on 14 March, thanks to a ‘day of champions’ that will feature an all-star line-up of motorsport heroes and a range of incredible racing machinery.
Entry to the famous Kent circuit will be free of charge for spectators, who will have the unique chance to watch demonstration laps from the best of World Touring Cars, World Superbikes, A1GP, DTM, British Superbikes, British Touring Cars, World Sidecars, British Truck Racing Superprix and even an historic Formula 1 car.
The day will also feature all three of Britain’s current reigning motorsport World Champions, with Andy Priaulx in action at the wheel of his BMW World Touring Car as well as local stars Tim and Tristan Reeves who will be at the helm of their breathtaking, three-wheeled world championship winning Sidecar.
Former WSB champion James Toseland will also be in attendance, while current British Superbike title holder Ryuichi Kiyonari will be offering a few very lucky members of the press the pillion ride of a lifetime on his Honda Fireblade. For Touring Car fans it doesn’t get much better than the might of an Audi DTM car, although tin-top ace and back-to-back BTCC champ Matt Neal will no doubt be keen to put on a good display in a 2006-spec Honda Integra.
With more power than a Formula 1 car, the 1000bhp racing truck of former British champ Steve Horne never fails to wow the crowds with it’s ‘tail out’ antics and will make a stark contrast to the sleek, aerodynamic A1GP single-seater. The World Cup of Motorsport machine is also scheduled for some demo laps of the Indy circuit, ahead of the series finale on 29 April and will be partnered for the day by a stunning 1976 JPS-liveried Lotus Grand Prix car.
Entry is free to the official 2007 Season Launch at Brands Hatch on Wednesday 14 March. The 2007 motorsport season at Brands Hatch kicks off with the Lotus Brands Hatch celebration on 24 March.
