Jarrett Scheduled For March 27 Kentucky Speedway Test

Michael Waltrip Racing driver Dale Jarrett is scheduled to test at Kentucky Speedway March 27. The 1999 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series champion enters the week ranked 37th in the series standings. He registered his season-best 22nd-place finish in the Daytona 500 and is averaging a 33rd-place finish through five events this season. Test sessions begin at 9:00 a. m. and conclude at approximately 5:00 p. m.

K. O.I. L. Series Action Continues At Kentucky Speedway March 31

Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana Legends (K. O.I. L.) Series competition will continue on the Kentucky Speedway paved quarter-mile track Saturday, March 31 at 11:00 a. m., during the Third Annual Easter Bunny Twin Twenties. Speedway gates open at 9:00 a. m.

Fifteen-year-old driver Ty Dillon guided a Richard Childress Racing-owned car to a win in the Semi-Pro Legends Class in the most recent competition yesterday. Childress grandson joined Columbus, Ohio native Christian Pahud in Victory Circle.

Pahud took his first Semi-Pro Legends Class win in the opening day of competition on Saturday.

Tony Steffen of Independence, Ky., picked up Masters and Pro Division Legends Series wins on Saturday and Byron Stowe of Dayton, Ohio, duplicated the feat yesterday.

Blake Jones of Sevierville, Tenn., stood atop the eight- to 11-year-old Bandolero Bandit Division after posting Saturday and Sunday wins.

Christopher McKinney of Maynardville, Tenn., became the third dual winner of the weekend by taking Bandolero Young Guns/Outlaw Division feature wins on both Saturday and Sunday.

Venezuelan Milka Duno To Compete In Kentucky Speedway Indycar Series Event

Thirty-five-year-old Venezuelan female racer Milka Duno will be part of the IndyCar Series field at Kentucky Speedway Aug. 11. The event will be one of 10 Duno is scheduled to drive this season. She will pilot the No. 23 CITGO Racing / SAMAX Motorsport Dallara/Honda/Firestone owned by Peter Baron.

The U. S. Navy-trained engineer will bring considerable sports car racing experience to the IndyCar Series after competing in the American Le Mans and Grand American Series events in past seasons. Duno will make her series debut at Texas Motor Speedway June 9 and also will compete in events at Iowa Speedway, Watkins Glen International, Nashville Superspeedway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Michigan International Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway.

Kimmel Grabs Share Of Arca Re/max Series Standings Lead In Lakeland, Fla.

Eight-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion and four-time Kentucky Speedway race winner Frank Kimmel nailed down his second top-10 finish of the season and took a share of the lead in the championship standings in the series 253-lap debut race at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla., March 24. Kimmel finished the race seventh and four spots behind co-leader Justin Allgaier, who captured his first top-five and second top-10 finishes in as many starts. Kimmel advanced three spots in the series standings.

Allgaier picked up six spots.

Plano, Tex., driver James Buescher, who celebrates his 17th birthday today, became the youngest winner in the 55-year history of the series at 16 years, 11 months and 24 days. Shelby Howard was the previous youngest series winner after taking a Salem, Ind., Speedway win at age 17 in 2003.

Bueschner crossed the finish line 0.840 of a second ahead of second-place driver Bryan Clauson.

Wayne Anderson finished third and Brian Keselowski closed out the top-five in fifth position.

The series visits Nashville Superspeedway for its third event of the season April 7.

Stephen Leicht won the 2006 event at the track that Steve Wallace started from the pole position.
