Miss Grenada Returns Home So As Not To Distract Hamilton For Sunday's Monaco GP

The 22 year old British driver was visiting family in Grenada earlier this year when he met the brunette beauty Vivian Burkhardt.

It seems Hamilton fell for the exotic looks of Burkhardt as they were snapped together in Cannes last Sunday.

Vivian Burkhardt was the talk of the town after she accompanied the Formula One star to the A-list Cannes Film Festival earlier this week.

But, according to her mother Valerie, she returned home this week so as not to be a distraction to the 23-year-old driver as he prepares for Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix.

She says the pair first got together over dinner back in February and have been writing a letter a week to each other since.

And she admitted the couple got on so well together in Cannes that they have already arranged to get together again in London next month.

Valerie, who lives in Grenada, said: “When he was out here in February he invited her out for a meal, just the two of them. They got to know each other and became close.

“Lewis seems very keen, but this was still only their second date.”

Her mother said the 22-year-old will not be going to Monaco to see Lewis Hamilton, 23, race in the next round of the Grand Prix.

Valerie said: “Lewis needs time and space to prepare for the race. Vivian does not want to be a distraction to him.

“They both respect each other and the work that they do.”

“It’s too soon to be talking about wedding bells. They are taking things slowly but surely.

“But things look good for the future. I am hopeful things will work out for them.”

Brunette Vivian, 5ft 8in tall, is currently studying for a degree in natural science at St George’s University in Grenada.
