Monaco Grand Prix: Renault F1 Drivers Heads To Monte Carlo

The ING Renault F1 Team heads to Monte Carlo this weekend for the most glamorous race of them all: the Monaco Grand Prix. Nowhere can match the atmosphere and spectacle of racing around the fabled street circuit, and it’s a challenge that both Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet are looking forward to.

Monaco has been a happy hunting ground for Fernando as he has won the last two races in the Principality. While a hat-trick of wins is a tall order, the Spaniard is keen to build on his recent good form by grabbing some more points on Sunday. Nelson, too, is determined to bounce back with a points finish - he used to live in Monaco when he was younger and will relish the chance to return there as a fully-fledged Grand Prix driver.

A stern test of man and machine

Few tracks offer as stern a test of man and machine as Monaco. The drivers cannot afford to lose concentration for a moment as the track is hemmed in by unforgiving guardrails – even the slightest mistake will be heavily punished. Success requires a well-balanced, neutral car that inspires confidence from the driver. That is something that the ING Renault F1 Team will aim to deliver, and on the back a productive test in Paul Ricard last week, the team is quietly confident of another competitive showing this weekend.
