Renault will not quit Formula One despite seeing their fortunes take a nosedive, according to chief executive Carlos Ghosn.
Last season they managed only third in the Constructors’ Championship and, despite the return of Alsono, have so far struggled to find their form this time around.
But Ghosn remains confident that there is still time to turn the team’s fortunes around before the season close and said that Renault would remain a force in F1 for many years to come.
“We are committed to F1 for many years and we certainly won’t leave while we’re not winning.”
“Fernando is very important, he’s given motivation and augmentations to the team, and he is a fighter and an honest person,” he added
“It’s up to us to give him a good car. I’m confident he’ll stay with us.” said Ghosn.
