Hillary Will is a 28-year old NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) rising Top Fuel star and the fastest female in the history of NHRA professional drag racing - 334.65 mph!
• NHRA drag racing is the No. 2 motorsport in the country and the Top Fuel class is the quickest and fastest class of professional drag racing in the world.
• Nitromethane-powered Top Fuel dragsters produce nearly 8,000 horsepower and accelerate from a standing start to more than 100 mph in less than one second.
• Top Fuel dragsters routinely cross the quarter-mile finish line (1,320 feet) in less than 4.5 seconds at speeds over 330 mph.
• One cylinder in a Top Fuel dragster’s engine is equivalent to the horsepower in an entire NASCAR Cup car.
Hillary and the stars of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series compete at 24 annual national events throughout the United States.
Here are some interesting facts about the popular Top Fuel racer:
1. Hillary, a three-year Top Fuel veteran, drives the black and burgundy KB Racing, LLC Top Fueler. Her team is owned by Las Vegas businessman Ken Black and managed as part of the four-car nitro team of Kalitta Motorsports (Doug Kalitta, Scott Kalitta and Dave Grubnic).
2. Hillary is the only woman competing in the NHRA’s Top Fuel class, the highest level of drag racing. She is currently in 4th place in championship points, the highest points placement of her career.
3. Hillary is a 2002 Magna Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. She graduated from Eureka High School near her hometown of Fortuna, Calif.
4. Hillary participated in a 10-day, racing-themed goodwill tour of Afghanistan to visit U.S. military troops in March, 2008. She returned home with a new outlook on life and a new perspective of freedom after visiting military bases with other auto racing stars.
5. Hillary was a gymnast throughout her childhood and competed as a springboard diver in college. She still avidly follows both sports in her spare time.
