Mount Lawn Wins Go To Ehrgott, Irwin And Miller

NASCAR veteran and former USAC Champion Ken Schrader will compete in this week’s “Wednesday Night Thunder” program at the Plymouth (Ind. ) Speedway presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Schrader will pilot a Seymour Enterprises entry in the Regional Midget portion of the “tripleheader, ” which also showcases the Kenyon and Indiana Ford Focus Midgets.

Schrader’s last appearance in a USAC event came this January at the Ohio State Fairgrounds Expo Center in Columbus where mechanical problems cut short his drive in a 60-lap Midget feature. The last of his 33 USAC National career victories came in 1990 in the Silver Crown cars at Phoenix, Ariz.

A veteran of over 700 NSACAR Nextel Cup starts, Schrader won USAC’s 1982 Silver Crown and 1983 Sprint Car championships.

James Robertson finished second in last Wednesday’s race at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. and has 26-point lead in the latest Regional Midget standings. Ricky Ehrgott of Riverview, Fla. won the New Castle feature, leading the final 27 of 30 laps in his Rev-1 Power Services/Action Cameras Beast/Ford. Trailing runner-up Robertson were Brent Beauchamp, Alex Pruett and Zach Schiff.

Chett Gehrke maintained his lead in the Indiana Ford Focus points with his runner-up finish behind Tyler Irwin at New Castle. Gehrke leads Eric Fehrman by 22 points going into this week’s Plymouth race. Irwin, of Polson, Mont., caught early leader Robby Parish on lap 11 and led the last 20 laps in his Irwin Racing Beast to beat Gehrke, Andy Nock, Fehrman and Alison MacLeod.

Kyle Hamilton is the Kenyon Midget Series point leader entering races at Plymouth Wednesday and Anderson, Ind. Friday. Hamilton finished third in last Wednssday’s race at New Castle, won by Ryan Miller of South Charleston, Ohio. Miller led all 30 laps in his Miller Excavating/Health Bridge Imaging Yamaha to beat Jeff Wimmenauer, Hamilton, Blake Fitzpatrick and Caleb Armstrong.
