Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) driver Tracy Hines was released from Methodist Hospital on Sun., May 20, after undergoing reconstructive knee surgery last week. He will continue to recover at his Indiana home.
The 35-year-old from New Castle, Ind., crashed while riding his off-road motorcycle on April 30.
In an effort to assist the Hines’ family with medical costs, the Hoosier Auto Racing Fans (HARF) club will host a silent auction at O’Reilly Raceway Park prior to the 62nd Night Before the 500 USAC National Midget Car Series event on Saturday.
Numerous items will be up for bid from various racing series, including items donated by NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne. Race fans and competitors alike can also bid on items donated by several World of Outlaws and USAC Racing drivers and teams, as well as teams from the ARCA, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Busch Grand National Series.
The silent auction will begin at 3 p. m. EDT, as grandstand gates open to the public at O’Reilly. Bidding will close at 8:45 p. m. EDT. All proceeds will be donated to the Hines family to be used toward medical expenses.
The Hines family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have called and offered prayers of support. The family is also grateful to the entire motorsports community for their generosity in the planning of the HARF auction.
