USAC and UMARA (United Midget Auto Racing Association) begin a new venture as partners in motorsports June 2 when Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. hosts the first of more than a dozen Ford Focus Midget races offering points toward the 2007 USAC/UMARA Ford Focus Midget crown.
All but one of the scheduled races occurs on a Saturday night, the lone exception being the July 4 Independence Day race.
An open practice is slated this Saturday, May 19, with pit gates opening at noon and practice until 5 pm, followed by a season kick-off party.
Three of the programs, June 16, July 14 and August 18, will also afford points toward USAC’s 2007 Midwest Ford Focus championship. The other events are slated June 2, 9 and 2, July 4, 7 and 28, Aug. 4, 11 and 25 and Sept. 1.
