Rain forced postponement of the “Wednesday Night Thunder” events presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Plymouth (Ind. ) Speedway, but the event has been rescheduled for July 11, replacing the originally-scheduled events at New Castle, Ind. NASCAR star Ken Schrader, who was slated to compete Wednesday, will return for the July 11 races. This week’s July 4 events at New Castle’s Mount Lawn Speedway were canceled.
Cale Conley of Vienna, W.V. earned his first USAC feature win Friday in the 30-lap Kenyon Midget Car race at Anderson (Ind. ) Speedway. Driving the Miller Excavating, Health Bridge Imaging Yamaha, he passed Jeff Wimmenauer on lap 13 and led the rest of the way to beat series point leader Kyle Hamilton, Jacob Wilson, Wimmenauer and Mitch Hoffses.
