Tim Brown of Cana, Va., will resume his bid for a record-tying eighth championship at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday night.

Brown has a commanding 51-point lead over Jonathan Brown and Burt Myers in the featured Modified Division with two race dates remaining, including Saturday’s 25-lap doubleheader.

Ralph Brinkley won eight Bowman Gray Stadium titles from 1973 through 1987.

Other division leaders heading into Saturday night’s races are Gary Ledbetter of Lexington (Sportsman), David Sumner of Trinity (Street Stock) and Dale Barneycastle of Mocksville (Stadium Stock).
