The Motueka motocross rider Josh Coppin’s admits his future in the sport is in limbo after he failed to secure a contract with his Yamaha team for next year’s MX1 world championship.
Because of budget cuts the Yamaha factory team couldnt afford two MX1 riders next season and Coppins feels because of his age he was the one cut. Radio New Zealand
Coppins, 32, suspected age was behind his dropping and told he had given serious thought to winding down his 15-year career as a professional.
“To be honest, at first I wanted to come home… do some racing in Australia and step down slowly,” he said.
“(But) I’ve had some good opportunities arise from other teams to stay here in Europe so I’m looking at all the possibilities at the moment.” New Zealand Herald
