The 2010 FIM Motocross of Nations will be run at the Thunder Valley Motocross Park facility, just outside Denver, in Lakewood, Colorado on September 25 and 26.
This is the first time in three years the event will be held in the U.S. The last time it was on American soil was in Budds Creek, Md., which marked the last professional motocross appearance of the legendary Ricky Carmichael. 9NEWS.com
Over 30 countries will send their three best riders to compete for the coveted ‘Chamberlain Trophy’ – the equivalent of the ‘Olympic Gold’, as the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations is also known as “The Olympics of Motorcycling”.
2010 will mark the 64th edition of this event, and this will be the third time it’s ever been held in the USA, following this year’s Franciacorta, Italy edition.
FIM President Mr. Vito Ippolito stated: “It is positive to see the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations coming back to the United States in 2010, Youthstream has reached an important target with this agreement.
“I remember the 2007 edition of the event in Budds Creek, again in America: it was my first Motocross race as the FIM President and I was impressed by the passion of a massive crowd, by the good working organization and by the atmosphere.” Motorcycling Australia
