In an untoward mishap that occurred on Sunday, the motocross racing circuit witnessed the sad and untimely demise of a future motocross racer, Tanner Krahenbuhl. He was 16.
The accident reportedly took place on Sunday night when the RV he was riding reportedly got out of control after losing its brakes. As a result, the RV rolled off the steep Powder Mountain Road thus killing the rider, Tanner. The untimely death of the teenage rider has shocked the local racing circuit. Thaindian.com
Tanner was on his way home to the Valley from a motocross event just north of Salt Lake City when a mechanical failure led to tragedy.
Six other people were with him, two of whom are in critical condition.
Members of the local motocross community say Tanner was a standout professionally and personally.
“He’s just talent. He trains real hard, and this was going to be the year he’d probably get a big factory ride. Ever since I met him he was such a good kid, up and comer in the sport, and it’s hard to see a good one, something like that happen, ” says Eric Hallgath of Champion Motorsports
Eric knew Tanner was a standout in motocross the moment the teen walked into his store about a year ago.
But all of that ended Sunday, not on a windy motocross track, but on a windy mountain road in Utah.
“To have someone like this disappear because he is so young, you know, he was working so hard, it’s tough. It’s tough for everybody,” says Eric. KTNV Las Vegas
