Video: Tye Simmonds Red Bull Debut

Tye Simmonds made his debut riding the bike at the Red Bull XRAY held over the weekend in Picton NSW, where he placed third in Speed & Style.

Simmonds entered the event alongside Motorex KTM team mate Kade Mosig with the duo mixing up their motocross skills with some of the best freestyle riders in the world including event host Robbie Maddison, and Motorex KTM Freestyle team rider, Matt Schburing.

The total from the judged tricks then was deducted from the rider’s overall time, leaving the winner of each head-to-head shootout with the lowest possible score.

The end result for Speed and Style saw Tye Simmonds ride home in third, Cody Mackie in second and Jarryd McNeil in first.

“A highlight was banging bars with Robbie Maddison on the circuit like it was a championship event, and we were both throwing down whips.”

“With the points system Robbie beat me by one second, but he was penalised two seconds for cutting the track, so I won the heat.”
